The following are the types of debate in which you can participate, the current topic and a link for you to view this style of debate.  For questions, please come to see Mr. Rutledge in room 227 or contact one of your officers under the Home tab.

CX Debate:  The United States federal government should significantly strengthen its protection of domestic intellectual property rights in copyrights, patents and/or trademarks.  Link

LD Debate:  The development of Artificial General Intelligence is immoral.  Link

PF Debate:  The United States federal government should substantially increase its investment in domestic nuclear energy.  Link

World Schools Debate: (topics change frequently but here are the topics for this year (below)  Link

September AND November Tournaments (and August)
This House prefers conditional foreign aid to unconditional aid.
This House regrets the dominance of the two-party system in American politics.
This House believes that the environmental rights of future generations supersede the economic interests of current generations.
This House believes that the acquisition of startups by large corporations does more harm than good.

October AND December Tournaments 
This House would implement a living wage.
This House would nationalize energy companies.
This House regrets the narrative that democracy is the best form of governance.
This House, as a state with an aging population, would prefer policies that increase immigration (e.g. more visas) over ones that encourage citizens to have more children (e.g. tax benefits).

January AND February Tournaments
As the United State government, this House would remove the ban on using affirmative action policies in higher education admissions.
This House believes that state capitalism is a more effective economic model than liberal capitalism for promoting long-term national development and economic stability.
This House supports the Home Guarantee movement. Info Slide: A federal Homes Guarantee means that every household in the United States — whether they rent or own — has a dignified and affordable home.
This House believes that social media activism has done more harm than good to the feminist movement.
